Okay, I'll admit it. I can't let go of some things.
I didn't like the previous post's earth image.
Here is another, with a real planet.
I'm currently looking at using Maya to build planets, the photoshop method is just too hinky.
However, it looks like I might have better luck being Superman, since the program is sooooo easy.

You might considere Celestia- it's a real astronomy program that's free and uses data about real star systems. I have a file of backgrounds in my gallery that I made with it:

Nice. I am probably going to have to try the more complex program, simply because I am making planets that are not real, and I want to get closeups of the planets in some cases.
